“While I have a great deal of confidence in the spectrum engineering expertise of the FCC’s commissioners and staff and the decision the agency initially reached, airline safety concerns can never be taken lightly. Because of the importance to the U.S. of getting 5G services launched as soon as possible, consistent with a proper resolution of the safety concerns of the FAA and DOT, I’m pleased that President Biden has become involved in spurring the parties to reach a proper quick resolution. And it’s encouraging that President Biden says he is committed to rapid 5G deployment, because presidential leadership may be needed in other regards to make this commitment a meaningful reality."
